To find a distinctive voice on my instrument has always been the focus of my work.

Through the exploration of timbres and textures and the addition of conventional objects in my percussion set, I have found a vehicle to express my artistic vision while conveying a sound that speaks about my identity and the roots of my musical background. The music of South America has always influenced my playing. Materials such as wood, skin, seeds, and straw prevail in my percussion sets to evoke the simplicity of a very acoustic sound.

This search for musical identity is also the axis that has helped me to articulate performance, composition, and pedagogy fields. Throughout my career, I have interacted with artists from different countries and disciplines by working on collaborative projects that develop art-based strategies for social engagement around the world. These exchanges have played a vital role in my compositional ideas, teaching approaches, and performance development.
